Experiments in PhotoShop CS4

I haven’t used Photoshop since version 6, back when I first started as a Web Dev, and I’ve been meaning to replace my twitter background since I signed up.

This weekend I Thought I’d bight the bullet and just knock up a simple background, I used the very helpful tutorial over at Spoon Graphics to give me a leg up and even though mine looks similar I did try and make it a little different.

I did however get a little stuck when it came to the bit where I had to do a knock out mask for the Polaroid so my picture was displayed without cutting up my photo to fit, enter you suck at photoshop to the rescue.

Anywho… Have a look and leave me a comment :-)

You are using an outdated browser

Today I went on a slight rant at work when I saw this article from computerworld.com titled Microsoft: Killing IE6 ‘not an option’. Now I like windows and all the neat stuff I can run on it, Incontinent Exploder 6 is not one of them in fact I’d go as far as to say I jolly well dislike it.

I tweeted a link to the story and to the ie no more campaign site I also changed my twitter avatar using the twibbon.com campaign for IE6-Must-Die.

And that brings me to my point in the WordPress theme I’m working on for this site I’ll be adding a few ie6 specific additions, there will be a banner warning you that you’re using an outdated browser, and the comments will be locked out to anyone using the offencive beast.

That’ll learn’me…

What do you think, let me know in the comments.

I’ve found 30 Tutorials Combining Both WordPress and jQuery

What The F**K is Social Media?

I found this rather interesting today :-

Which lead me neatly to this :-

What the F**K is Social Media: One Year Later

View more documents from Marta Kagan.

That just made me have fond memories of :-

What am I trying to say with all this…

Sad fact is that Marta Kagan had to do a second “What the f**k” one year later is a painful reminder that the people that make decisions about products & marketing still have no clue what social media is.

Like I’m one to talk ;-)

Dude! where you been all month…

Sorry about this I’m working two blogs, I had to get another job, I’ve been working on for projects at home and I’m still skint and in need of a government handout.

Apart from that I’m fine how are you?

The past two and a bit weeks I’ve been working in Bristol again, the only funky thing to report is working on a Google maps thingy with Jquery, I’m just waiting for the design guy to finish coloring it in and then I might nick the css and show you all here :-)

I’m working on a new version of Dodge, still only a point release but a huge improvement.

I’m keeping busy, more as it happens…
