You are using an outdated browser
Today I went on a slight rant at work when I saw this article from computerworld.com titled Microsoft: Killing IE6 ‘not an option’. Now I like windows and all the neat stuff I can run on it, Incontinent Exploder 6 is not one of them in fact I’d go as far as to say I jolly well dislike it.
I tweeted a link to the story and to the ie no more campaign site I also changed my twitter avatar using the twibbon.com campaign for IE6-Must-Die.
And that brings me to my point in the WordPress theme I’m working on for this site I’ll be adding a few ie6 specific additions, there will be a banner warning you that you’re using an outdated browser, and the comments will be locked out to anyone using the offencive beast.
That’ll learn’me…
What do you think, let me know in the comments.

Sounds like a great idea. I think the majority of the IE6 users simply don’t know any better. While you can’t force Microsoft to follow industry standards or fix its old broken software, you can keep from being an enabler.
By refusing to jump through hoops to make up for their mistakes, you’re making a (small) contribution to the death of the old browser. The more web developers make allowances for IE6, the longer it’ll stay around. The more users come up against compatibility issues, the more they’ll switch (hopefully to Chrome!)
